Friday Funnies- iCarly

I don't know how I've missed iCarly before now....Jacob just started watching this show this week, with being sick and all.  It is hilarious.  It's pretty sad that Dan and I love our kids' shows more than any of the adult shows.  LOL  iCarly is definitely worth watching, though!  Anyway, I wanted to find the video of Freddie's mom going ballistic during the fencing competition, but I couldn't find it, so this will have to do.  It's still hilarious, especially if you have seen the whole episode.:)  Laugh it up!

Friday Funnies- Bazinga!

One of Dan's favorite shows is The Big Bang Theory, so much so, that now he's gotten me into it.  The last one we watched was hilarious.  Sheldon was stuck on a scientific formula, and he couldn't sleep or work or anything until he figured out the answer.  This is the scene from the ball pit.  His "Bazinga!" just cracks me up!  Laugh it up!  (I hope you don't mind the tiny commercial in the beginning of the video....this was the only video I could embed.)

Friday Funnies- Up

We recently watched the movie, Up, with our kids.  If you haven't seen this movie, you are missing out!:)  It is soooooo good!  I laughed and laughed, and even though it has a bit of sadness too, in the beginning, it was such a great movie.

I was so not expecting Alpha's voice to be like a chipmunk....LOL.  Oh, and I love how they make it so true to life with the dogs pausing mid-conversation if they see a squirrel...."Squirrel!"  LOL  Anyway, here's a scene from the movie.  Laugh it up, and enjoy!:)

Friday Funnies- Olympic Edition

In honor of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, I wanted to post something funny having to do with figure skating.  I searched and searched for Scott Hamilton's Hair skating routine, but I could not find it.....bummer!  Anyway, this will have to do.  I used to sit and watch skaters like Kristi Yamaguchi, Kurt Browning, Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov (whose tragic story broke my heart...), and Scott Hamilton, among others, and dream of someday gliding on the ice like them....yeah, right!:)LOL  Even though I couldn't find Hair, this is still funny.:)  Enjoy!

Little Monsters

It all started out so innocently, just a simple game of what we like to call, "Ride the Heehee" (translation: Horsey).
It soon turned into an all-out monster fest.
Notice Daddy's attempt to smile.:)LOL  (I think that's when I was saying, "Oh wait, let me just get one more picture....)  LOL
We love you, Daddy!

Friday Funnies- Elmo, You Can Drive My Car

Oh my gosh, who would'a thunk it?  Seriously....we went to the library tonight and picked up some CDs, the kids and I.  Well, of course, an Elmo CD had to make it into the mix.  Elmo is Jaden's hero right now; well, in Jaden's words, Melmo.  Anyway, who would have thought that I'd be driving down the highway, actually rocking out with the kids to Elmo, You Can Drive My Car?  LOLOL  Seriously, it's such a fun song.  It's even cuter when you have a toddler in the back doing all the Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Yeah!  LOL  Oh, if you don't have a library with tons of kids' music, you are missing out on many good laughs, my friends!:)  Enjoy!  (Let's see if you can keep from rockin'out.)LOL

Friday Funnies- Hedge of Protection

Gotta love Tim Hawkins....I would give my eye teeth to go see him live.  Oh my goodness....I laughed and laughed on this one.  "A hedge, huh?  I don't mean to complain, but is that the best you can do?"  LOL  Laugh it up!

Things I Love Thursday: This Hat

The story behind this hat is really funny....I love it because every time I see Jacob in it, I just get to giggling.:) (And what is it with boys that they can't smile nicely, like normal, for a picture?  Every picture's gotta bring its own drama to the table.  LOL)

A couple of years ago, Jacob got this hat for Christmas.  He loved it then, but he kinda grew out of it; at least, his tastes completely changed since then, meaning he got way more picky.  Tried shopping for clothes with a picky 7 year old?  Oh, it's just so much fun!  Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I dug out this hat and resurrected it.:)  It seemed that every time I turned around, Jacob was losing every hat I gave him.  He'd wear it and never bring it in from the car, or he'd put it somewhere, who knows where.  So, sometimes we moms have to get creative in our discipline, right?  I decided to resurrect this hat and make him wear it, since we just couldn't ever keep track of our hats anymore.  I got the big eyes and the, "Oh, Mom, do I have to?  Please don't make me wear that hat!  Pleeeeeaaaassssseeeee!"  LOL  To which I replied, "Well, maybe this will teach you to quit losing stuff and actually find your other hats."  LOL

From that day on, he has worn this hat, and now he's back to liking it; he says it's "so comfortable."  It still cracks me up, though.  LOL  Gotta love 'im.

This second one just makes me laugh out loud, because I can just see Dan doing something like this and me sitting there on the couch, just staring at him....LOL.

Giggles Over My Littles

When I read this on Ruth's and Missie's blog, I about cracked up! (Missie got it from a friend of hers.) I was nodding my head and laughing the whole time I read this....enjoy!:) Gotta love our littles!

Toddler/Parent Contract

Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you for the interest in remaining my parents. Below is a list of my demands.

FOOD
1. For breakfast, there will be only milk from my sippy cup while I'm watching television (see section II).
2. From breakfast until what you probably call lunch, I will be provided with an unending supply of cookies. No arguments.
3. For lunch I will eat yogurt. Anything containing fruit on the bottom will make me pick out the fruit and throw it on the ground or else throw it up on your carpet.
a. so no fruit on the bottom.
4. From lunch until dinner I will enjoy having something to lick. Why not a lollipop? Why not seven?
a. Between licks, I may place the lollipop on your grandmother's Turkish rug. This will be okay by you.
5. For dinner I will have macaroni and cheese. Any attempts to give me vegetables in addition to the macaroni and cheese will result in tears.
a. And don't you dare hide anything in the cheese sauce, because, how you will rue the day.
6. After dinner, you may provide me with ice cream.
a. No frozen yogurt. Trust me, I know the difference.

II TELEVISION
1. The TV will be on all the time, unless I say differently. You are to sit by my side, quietly, hands folded in lap, while I watch my shows.
a. You may arise to fetch me a snack.
2. No diaper changing or pleas to engage in physical activity will be tolerated during watching of television.
3. Turning off the television will result in much kicking and screaming.

III TOYS
1. There will be many.
a. They will always be strewn about the house so that I may simply reach down and pick up a toy, no matter where I am.
b. They will be loud, complicated, and contain many small pieces. I enjoy shooting noises that go w-shooooopp! or zim zim zim.
c. Nothing that results in any type of learning, please.

IV FRIENDS
1. They should be available whenever I'm in the mood to use someone else's toys or ingest someone else's cookies.
a. These friends may not ever so much as look at my toys or cookie supply.
b. Ever, ever, ever.

V SLEEP
1. Is when I say, where I say, and how I say. If I want to sleep upside down with my legs locked around your neck, then that's how it will be.
a. And you will enjoy it.

VI AFFECTION
1. Occasionally I enjoy being hugged and kissed. I stress occasionally.
2. I will not be pelted with wet mouthed assaults on an hourly basis. Should you feel the need to hug or kiss, you must provide me with a written request.
a. And then wait for me to offer my pudgy cheek.

Canned Snow, Amazing Stuff

Ok, so I was telling a friend this story the other day, and she got such a kick out of it that I thought it made for good blogging material, so maybe you'll get a kick out of it too.:)

Ever since we moved here last summer, I've been trying to figure out how to cover up a window in our bathroom.  It faces the street, and it just happens to be directly across from our shower, so when I get out of the shower, I can see the neighbor's house right across the street.  Plus, the window's round, so it's just going to look weird if I try to cover it up with a curtain.  I've actually went across the street and stood at our neighbor's driveway, though, to see if anyone could see in that window (I know, crazy right?  Dan thinks I am:)), even though it's set just slightly higher than most windows.  Yep, sure enough, I could see right in.  Thank goodness for cloth shower curtains that aren't see-through!  But when I get out of the shower (TMI, I know....just bear with me, 'cause it is hilarious), for the last 3 months I've purposely kept the bathroom fan off, so the window would fog up, and I crouch down and halfway over when I get in and out so noone will see me.  LOL  Try drying off while crouching over, trying not to be seen.

Well, my sister-in-law, Jennifer, came a few weeks ago, and she suggested buying the snow that Walmart puts out at Christmas and using that to maybe cover it up.  Thank you, Jennifer!  As soon as Christmas stuff hit the shelves, I went and bought my $1.25 can of snow.  Then I came home and got to spraying, trying to make it look decorative, yet covered enough that I could comfortably get my shower without giving anyone that drove by a show.  LOL  That stuff is wonderful; it worked, and we have complete privacy now!  All because of that canned stuff they call snow....amazing stuff!:)

Friday Funnies- Want a 'Nack?

Well, being a mommy sure has its good days and then, well, its crazy, insane days.:)  While Jacob and I were working steadily on our schoolwork Monday, here came Jaden with a piece of bread.  He was so excited because he had found "Ba, a 'nack!"  (Translation: "Bread, a snack!")  At first, I was thinking, "Cool!  He got himself a snack!"  Then reality hit, and I knew, from experience, this might not be good, and I was afraid to head to the kitchen.  When I did, I found a trail of bread all over the couch and down in, and then lovingly, stuffed down in the toaster.  He was making us a 'nack, toast.  Needless to say, he did get in a little bit of trouble for wasting a half a loaf of bread, but on the other hand, I couldn't help but giggle about it later on, so here's my Friday Funnies.

Friday Funnies- Elf

With Christmas coming, I am so getting in the Christmas spirit already.  We've been practicing hard for our Christmas program at church, and it has really gotten me ready for the holidays!  I'm putting up my tree this weekend, hopefully.:)  With Christmas comes great Christmas movies, though.  Elf is one of those movies.  It's not one I make it a point to watch every year, but it is hilarious.  Haven't you ever wanted to do this to all the buttons in the elevator?  I know I have....but can you imagine having to stop on all those floors?:)LOL  Laugh it up!

Friday Funnies- "Ta-Da!"

Jaden is starting to go through that stage where he mimics everything, and it's gradually getting easier to teach him how to say certain things or do certain things.  The other day, I taught him how to just do something fun and then say, "Ta-Da!"  Now he thinks it's hilarious to just hide something, uncover it, and then go, "Ta-Da!"  LOL  Well, it came back to bite me in the butt.:)

I know I've said before how you'd think I'd learn by now with Jaden and markers (and I just have to say here, Thank Crayola's lucky stars for non-toxic markers!).....well, he likes to climb, and it seems that I just don't learn....case in point....(Can definitely tell I'm a blogging mama; had to come take pictures before I cleaned him up, of course!)

The hilarious thing (not so funny at the time, since I feared that someone was going to hotline me at the time), is that as we were going through the grocery store one night (after he'd had a mishap with a certain green marker and his belly), he was sitting in the cart and raising his shirt up, yelling with all his might, "Ta-Da!  Ta-Da!  Ta-Da!"  The bad thing was that the huge green marker stain looked exactly like a bruise....and everyone was staring.  I know, right?  That was bad!  But it wasn't a bruise, people!  Seriously!  The kid loves markers!  What can I say?  He even ended up coloring the bottoms of his feet with this black marker.  Needless to say, I am keeping the markers put way away from him.....I have truly learned my lesson.....until the next time it happens.:)LOL  Oy vei.....oh, but it's not just markers; he loves pens and crayons and pencils.  Maybe he's going to be an artist....a tattoo artist.:)LOL  JK, Mom.....:)
