Out of the Mouths of Babes
Little boys are so much fun; you never know what they are going to say or do next. Dan and I are reading Bringing Up Boys by Dr. James Dobson right now, and it is so funny because he describes little boys in just the right way. There are days when we, as mothers, wonder if it's possible for them to survive until they reach manhood, what with all the scrapes and troubles they get themselves into. In regards to their mouths, though, Jacob has not shut his mouth since we started school. I think that he has expressed every possible thought that has entered his brain. He just can not talk enough; it is every second and every moment of the day, and there are days when I ask God if He can please help me because I don't know if I can make it through all the questions and just endless talk, talk, talk. God's been working a lot of overtime lately at our house.:)LOL Anyway, the other day we were again at the grocery store in the checkout line of all places. Jacob had bought a drink for himself with his own money and was putting his money away, when suddenly, another thought entered his brain from long ago. (Keep in mind that we did not teach him that lottery tickets were ok; some of our family has introduced him to this, much to my dislike, but it's ok....it's another teaching moment for us) He piped up loud enough for Moses to hear, "Mommy, I know what I can do with my dollar!!! I can buy a lottery ticket!!!" (All the while holding up his dollar bill) Oh my. Well, everyone was laughing at this point, and I probably grew three shades of red trying to get him to stop talking about it. He just doesn't understand why that is bad because they were so much fun before when he was introduced to them. So, that's just one of the many examples I was talking about. There is never a dull moment with a 6 year old boy and a 10 month old boy in this house!!! But I wouldn't trade my boys for all the quiet boys in the world. There are days when I might consider a bit of duct tape; no, I'm just kidding!:) Don't go crazy when you read that!:) You know you've considered it too! Good night......time for some much needed "quiet" sleep.
