I've recommended the book, The Well-Trained Mind, before, but now I'm recommending The Well-Trained Mind Forums, a place you can go to talk with other like-minded homeschoolers and maybe even get your questions answered.
A new homeschooling blogger I've found is Roscommon Acres, who also has an article concerning her thoughts on talking to her children about Haiti, Of Haiti and Homeschooling.
The Homeschool Classroom is another great blog with topics from Organization and Planning to Enrichment to Subject Matter to Methods and Systems to Faith and Family.
Our Lifestyle of Learning is a homeschooling community dedicated to encouraging you and helping you find balance in your day.
Deep Space Sparkle has art lessons, even listed according to grade level.
Project Gutenberg is a site where you can find all kinds of free, downloadable literature; they even have the McGuffey Readers.
Sprittibee is an awesome blog, and she has written up My Big-FAT Homeschool Links List, where you're sure to find so many great resources. I'll let you check them out for yourself.
Just Call Me Jamin is a homeschool blog with tons of great helps and resources; check out her sidebar for all kinds of ideas. You can also check out Jamin's Freebies from The Old Schoolhouse; every week, she compiles freebies together for homeschoolers everywhere. It's a great resource.
Homeschool Helper has tons of free notebooking pages, coloring pages, and worksheets.

I have a friend who homeschools her two children and I am utterly amazed at how resourceful she is! Her kids are brilliant and well-rounded. I truly admire Moms who homeschool.
