The 7:24 Challenge

This past Sunday, our pastor put forth a challenge to the whole congregation.  We have been  learning how we need to raze hell (raze being the operative word here, meaning to destroy the works of the devil in our homes, our communities, wherever we are)....and we are now being taught how to prepare.  In order to have an effective Christian life, one that is sold out to God, we have to learn how to be about His work; we have to be prepared, because the road is not going to be easy.  Hard times visit everyone; it rains on every single person.  Circumstances can't be an excuse, though, when we have a choice.  As Pastor Hosea said, "Rock-solid living comes as a consequence, or result, of our choices, not our circumstances."  It's even more crucial that we be prepared, as Christians, because it's not going to be a cakewalk; it's going to be tough....it's going to be downright hard.

So, we were issued a daily challenge: to spend 24 minutes every single day (7 days a week) just spending time interacting with God through His Word.  This challenge comes from Matthew 7:24- Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock (NKJV).  The challenge involves 4 components: 1) Listen slowly.  2) Think deeply.  Meditate on the Word.  3) Pray fervently.  4) Obey faithfully.

Real Heart Prints

Moms, we can do this; it's even more vitally important for us, as we are truly raising up future leaders....we can't do it alone; we need His guidance and His Word.  If 24 minutes seems like a lot, then break it up.....not only can we, as parents, do this, but we can start it with our children, as well.  Spend just 7 minutes every day with your children in the Word.  The first place we should even start is right here at home.  Grab an accountability partner, whether it be a spouse, a friend, or another blogger friend.  Take the challenge!:)  If you'd like to take part in this challenge, spread the word to other bloggers, by just grabbing the button and putting it on your blog.
